Contemporary artists transform established dance practices to enable new possibilities. Directed by Ein Lall | 2019 Producer and Commissioning Editor: Rajiv Mehrotra Ein Lall is a video artist and documentary filmmaker who works from New Delhi and Colombo. Her documentary work, spanning over three decades, has focused on the arts and activist issues. Her films on celebrated contemporary Indian dancers and artists Leela Samson, Chandralekha, Arpita Singh and Nalini Malani have been telecast on Doordarshan and at festivals internationally. Ein has created multi-channel video installations for theatre productions at the National School of Drama, Delhi; Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin; Arts Network Asia, Kuala Lumpur and Japan Foundation, Tokyo, among others. Rajiv Mehrotra is the founding Managing Trustee and Commissioning Editor of PSBT - his films have won more than 300 awards worldwide, including 32 in 31 years from the President of India. His nine books are available in 50 languages and editions. This is the visualisation with narration of the poem 'I just write' by Latesha. This movie has been produced by students of Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar and Pyrotech, the IT conglomerate of the school as an entry for DPSRKP Computer Symposium, Exun 2014 under the Film Making event hosted by the Digex Clan. Theme for the Event : With a consistently increasing number of reports of rape, domestic abuse and gender discrimination, India has become unsafe for, and unwelcoming to women. Create a short film that highlights the present state of women’s safety in India.
